their Implications for Applications

1/ Overview:
There is considerable confusion between the enabling
Internet
technologies for Internet/telephony convergence and their
implications for user applications and for the policy arena. To
help clarify these issues, ISOC will hold a one-day workshop. The
goals of this workshop are to
o succinctly describe the enabling technologies of VoIP, ENUM,
and IDN
o survey the classes of applications made possibly by these
technologies, and
o explore the economic and socio-political implications of these
applications and the range of policy options they imply.
